Four fragments of Roman mosaic flooring. One fragment contains three tessera, the others two, cemented together with white mortar. A total of 82 cut tile tesserae of Roman date. All have traces of mortar on at least one surface and the majority are formed from irregularly cut orange/pink Roman tile, with the exception of one white and two grey examples. In addition there are four groups of tesserae that remain mortared together, comprising three groups of two tesserae and one group of four tesserae. The tesserae range in size from the smallest example which measures 16.57mm in length, 16.60mm in width and 16.43mm in thickness to larger examples of up to 45mm square and 35mm in thickness. A total of 24 cut tile tesserae of Roman date. They are orange/red in colour, roughly rectangular in form and with traces of mortar on at least one surface. One example is cut from the angle/flange of a Roman tegula and several examples have relatively large and coarse inclusions. They have a combined total weight of 653.68g.

A total of 26 cut tile tesserae of Roman date with a combined total weight of 456.35g. 1) 16 red/orange tesserae, all with remains of mortar on at leastone side,with a combined weight of 291.99g. 2) Four pale yellow tesserae with mortar on at leastone side and weighing 64.60g. 3) Four dark red/black tessera, perhaps deliberately black or as a result of exposure to high temperatures, with traces of mortar on at least one face. They have a combined weight of 72.04g. 4) One red/orange and one pale yellow tessera still mortared together and with a combined weight of 27.72g.

A total of nine Roman tesserae with a combined total weight of 153.39g. 1) Six tesserae, one incomplete, that are roughly square in form and rectangular in section. They have extensive white encrustation probably as a result of mortar used to set the tesserae into the floor. They have a combined total weight of 92.58g. 2) Three similar tesserae but with darker red/grey upper surfaces, perhaps intended to represent a different colour, resultant from poor firing or exposure to high temperatures, or simply due to preservation in the ground. They have a combined total weight of 60.81g.

Two Roman tesserae of rectangular form, both of an orange/red fabric with small sandy inclusions and with white encrustation around the exterior edges probably the remains of mortar originally used to hold them in place. They have a combined total weight of 39.08g. 1) Measures 30.60mm in length, 24.64mm in width, 18.15mm in thickness, and weighs 20.23g. 2) Measures 29.20mm in length, 24.22mm in width, 17.30mm in thickness, and 18.85g in weight.

Two of grey (?)limestone, 26.40 x 2810mm; 17.37mm thickness, 37.34g and 24.22 x 24.05mm; 12.52mm thicknes, 25.67g respectively, one of white (?)limestone measuring 12.25 x 10.27mm and 9.76mm thickness, 4.48g and two of ceramic possibly re-shaped from tegula, measuring 18.41 x 21.41mm; 15.61mm thickness, 15.57g and 13.9 x 12.46mm; 10.28mm thickness, 4.45g respectively.

Three red tile fragments, of which two are certainly tesserae from a tesselated floor, one with surviving mortar traces. 27x25mm, 18mm thick and 20x19mm, 19mm thick; the third is roughly triangular, c 25x24mm, 19mm thick.
