A terminal fragment from a late Roman copper-alloy bracelet. Despite the break the fragment retains something of its original curvature. In cross-section the artefact is rectangular. It tapers from a width of 5.9mm at the break to 3.1mm before the terminal hook. The hook is forward facing and arguably truncated; the bracelet would have been fastened through an eye at the other end. The upper surface is decorated simply with scored, broadly transverse incisions. These grooves stop at a ridge before the hook at the terminal end, and at a plain section that begins just before the break. …

A fragment probably from a late Roman cast copper-alloy bracelet. The fragment is curved in plan.  It is broadly semicircular in cross-section as revealed at the breaks; neither terminal is present. The shallowly convex upper surface is decorated simply with transverse incisions, now faint as a result of wear. The object now has a variable mid-green patina with only some corrosion. The ridged effect given by the grooves can be seen on a bracelet illustrated in Crummy (1983, 40, 42; ref. 1676).
