Fragment of a Roman copper-alloy hair pin. The undecorated object consists of a biconvex head, plus a short section (2.6mm) of shaft. There is no collar between the head and shaft, which terminates in an old break. Similar to NMS-C347D3 and NMS-6AC993. See Cool (1990, fig.1, no.3) Group 1. A.D. 43-410. Length 11.5mm, diameter 10.0mm, thickness of shank 4.2mm. Weight 3.25g.

The mouldings on the head comprise three constrictions dividing four elements, a round-topped terminal, a collar, a long swelling of sub-rectangular cross-section and another collar.
