Description: Silver finger-ring with snake's head terminals, now in two fragments with a short length missing. There appear to originally have been two or three turns of a circular-section wire forming a spiral, with one end re-curved and ending in a snake’s head, the other detached. The centre of the hoop has decoration of five spherical balls in a row, the central one largest, the two edge ones slightly smaller and the second and fourth just small pellets. This very small object is a fragment from a small silver vessel, of cup or bowl shape. In section there is a clear angle, suggesting a more or less vertical and decorated rim or upper body, and a carination below which the plain body tapers inwards. The decoration is a simply engraved series of pointed ovules, possibly alternating in direction. No trace of inlay can be seen. 22 x 16 x about 1mm; weight: 3.1g.
