"A hoard of bronze coins was found during building works during 1980 at Watling Court, Watling Street, London. The hoard was found in a leather purse (which has not survived), and twelve coins have been (recovered?) from it. There are reported to have been more, but it has not been possible to track any down.

Robertson 2000, 10 no. 44: " "A total of 289 Icenian and Roman silver coins were recovered from a building site at Scole House, Scole, Norfolk, in late 1982 and 1983, and declared Treasure Trove at an Inquest on 26 July 1983. Originally a nucleus of 142 coins had been found and the remainder of the coins were excavated nearby or extracted from the builders' spoil heap on later occasions. After the initial discovery, the finders called in the Norwich Museum, and together they plotted the location of each find. Despite this exemplary behaviour, however, it was disappointing that no patt…

Robertson 2000, 1 no. 1: ""The second discovery was made in April 1960. It was reported to me [i.e. Lady Grace Briscoe] that pottery sherds and worked flints had been picked up, after deeper ploughing, in Joist Fen, a mile to the west of the village [i.e. Lakenheath], on a string of small sand islands surrounded by black peat. A few days later a workman picked up three coins, two Icenian and one Republican. It then transpired that workmen had been finding stray coins on the islands for the past two years or so, after ploughing. Inquiries among these men produced a number of coins, but…

"The hoard was found in an organic layer within the Walbrook river valley and included a number of other probably contemporary metal objects, including military items, as well as a fragments of a seal box which might be related to the hoard. The nine coins included two Republican denarii - which may have represented military pay. There were five Minerva coins of Claudius; one regular Spanish issue (Atelier 1), a copy of a Lyon (Atelier 2), one 'native' copy and two indeterminate copies. Two coins of Nero, dated AD…
