Pottery sherd: about 20% of the rim of a Dressel 20 olive oil amphora. There are at least five vertical cuts in the outer edge of the rim which are probably a grafitto relating to the use/re-use of the vessel; although the surface has recent damage there also appears to be some deliberate post-breakage wear or smoothing below the rim.

A Roman gold amulet or talisman, comprising a rectangular plaque (lamella) of thin gold sheet, lightly incised with a text in a mixture of Greek and Latin characters and magical symbols. There appear to be nine lines of text across the short axis of the plaque and two additional marginal lines on the right side of the long axis. Creasing of the soft metal of the plaque (there are seven 'fold' lines) shows that it was originally rolled into a tube, with the text on the inner face. It was unrolled by the finder. Incomplete possible Roman amulet or charm in the form of a D-sectioned curved and pointed tusk, broken at the oval, collared, broad end where there is a very worn possible stump of a loop for suspension. Romano-British iron T-clamp with anchor-shaped bifurcated head, rectangular-sectioned tapering shank, end broken, 45 x >73mm. Cf. Manning 1985, 131-2, R70-2. Such clamps would have used in the fixing of a variety of architectural elements, especially box flue-tiles.
