A chipped and damaged contemporary copy of a Roman Denarius, probably of Vespasian or Otho. Dating from AD 69 - 79 (Reece period 4). The coin has a copper alloy core, plated with white metal. Edges are chipped and plating is peeling in places. Obverse shows a laurate head right, reverse is abraded but possibly shows victory on a prow.
