733 nummi and one radiate to 317 and pot. Yarrow (2009, p.237) writes: "Mr D. Valverde discovered this hoard on 18 July 1999 in a Buckinghamshire field while on a metal detecting club outing. On the same day in the same field a hoard of denarii was also found, the 'Prestwood A' hoard (CHRB XI, pp.163-168).2 A number of potsherds were associated with the find. The area has yielded no previous archaeological finds; the topography can be described as a relatively isolated upland area a few kilometres from known settlements and roads of the Roman period. The hoard was declared treasure…

Robertson 2000, 246 no. 1013A: "The hoard was discovered by a group of four metal detector users [...] on a building site at Walton, within the area of Milton Keynes New Town, in late 1987. The coins were found scattered over an area of several square yards and there was no trace of any container; it is likely that the coins recorded here do not constitute the whole hoard. The Milton Keynes Archaeology Unit has discovered evidence of Roman occupation from two separate sites respectively within 300-400 yards and [within] half a mile of the hoard's find spot."

Robertson 2000, 244 no. 1008: "In 1958, during excavations at the Bon March[e] site, in a masonry building with a colonnade: "The building seems to have been an eating-house now; and it may well have had this status later on." The building was abandoned in the mid-4th century, but the highest street-surfaces, no. 7, seem to have been laid at a later date, perhaps after AD 375. Notable finds were few. Part of a shale table-top (Fig. 18,5) may be mentioned, and a small hoard of 20 small folles of Constantine I and Licinius I found in the layer of collapsed material above one of the…

Robertson 2000, 244-245 no. 1009: ""The hoard was discovered during excavation work at the Romano-British site of the Vagniacis on the 23rd of April 1984 by the Director of Excavations, S. Harker. It was buried within the Temple temenos in the back fill of an otherwise featureless pit, in an area of open ground between a drainage ditch and path parallel to R. 4. There was no indication of a rigid container, and the shape of the coin mass suggested a cloth or leather bag. The hoard had been wedged along the side of a very large flint, which undoubtedly would have aided recovery, fo…

Robertson 2000, 251 no. 1043: ""When constructing a new tennis-court at Clevedon, Somerset, at the end of February, J. Hollier, the groundsman, turned up eight Roman coins and various fragments of black and grey pottery, about 20 inches beneath the surface, at a spot 110 feet above sea-level. The largest of the coins was a 'second brass' of Constantine the Great, bearing the London mint mark (rev. GENIO POP ROM); and the remainder, which were unfortunately in bad condition also belonged to the same period. The pottery was all Romano-British, of the 'Upchurch' type, one fragment of …

Robertson 2000, 248 no. 1022: ""In the spring of 1950 mechanical diggers belonging to the Oxford-shire Ironstone Co., Ltd., were removing topsoil to expose ironstone strata near Rignall House, Wroxton. After a Sunday of heavy rain Mr. J. Eadon, an employee of the company, discovered a hoard of Roman coins lying in a small pocket of earth. A scatter of Roman pottery and burnt ironstone for several hundred yards round the site of the hoard suggests that there might have been some sort of settlement there. No pottery, however, was found with the hoard, which may therefore have been bu…
