An incomplete silver denarius of Severus Alexander (AD 221-35), dating to the period AD 222 - 228 (Reece Period11). FELICITAS AVG reverse type depicting Felicitas standing left, sacrificing from patera held in right hand over lighted altar and holding long caduceus in left hand. Mint of Rome. Cf. RIC IV, p. 81 no. 137.
Just over half of the coin survives and due to the placement of the visible lettering would suggest this RIC type rather than the later IMP SEV ALEXAND AVG type (RIC IV no. 192).

This coin was originally recorded as being of Macrinus, however the obverse legend and reverse type appear closer to coins of Severus Alexander.
