A slightly worn and corroded 3rd-century silver Roman denarius of Severus Alexander (222-235), 'P M TR P XI COS III P P', struck at Rome in 232 AD (R.I.C. 114; Reece issue period 11). The flan has not been trimmed to the border. Both faces feature patches of green copper-alloy corrosion product.
