A copper-alloy Roman medallion of Severus Alexander (AD 222-235), dating to the period c.AD 231 (Reece Period 11). FIDES MILI-TVM reverse type depicting Jupiter naked standing front, head left, holding thunderbolt in right hand and long sceptre in left. Severus Alexander helmeted, in military dress, stands facing him, sacrificing out of a patera over a tripod and holding a spear in left hand and is crowned by Virtus helmeted, in military dress, standing behind him; at foot left a shield; to right behind Jupiter, a standard. Mint of Rome.
