FECVNDITAS AVGVSTAE, S C reverse type depicting Fecunditas standing left holding cornucopiae and extending hand over a child. Mint of Rome. As RIC IV.2, p. 124, no. 668. Length 30.8mm, Width 29.1mm, Thickness 3.9mm, Diameter 30.8mm, Weight 17.8g, Die axis: 350 deg. or almost 12 0'clock. Little wear, attractive dark brown patina with small 'rusty' like surface corrosion deposits with two 'striking' cracks round the flan but only going as far as the legend.

A copper alloy Sestertius of the Roman Emperor Severus Alexander (AD 222-233). Severus Alexander was the last Emperor of the Severan dynasty. Sestertii tend to have very good portraiture on their obverse as the large size of the coin allowed the die engraver a good amount of space with which to work. Obverse:- Draped and laureate bust of Severus Alexander right, legend around, 'IMP CAES M [AVR SEV] ALEXANDER AV[G]' Reverse:- Pax advancing left, holding a branch and scepter.
