This is one of two specimens known for this coin honouring Legio VI Victrix; for the other piece, see Numismatic Circular (June 2000), no. 2263. FASAM-B450E7 is another piece for Legio VI which shares the same reverse die..

Copper alloy radiate (with some surviving silvering) of Carausius (AD 286-93) (Reece Period 14), FIDES EXERCIT, Four standards. C Mint, - // SPC. RIC V, pt 2, p. 489. no. 223. It does appear that this is the first example of this coin known with this obverse legend - IMP C CARAVSIVS AVG - because RIC was confusing two other coins. This is probably the first example of this precise type seen.

Diameter: 20.09 mm; Thickness: 2.47 mm; Weight: 3.43g. The reverse of the coin is struck off centre, hence only part of the legend visible.
