A copper alloy Roman radiate of Carausius dating to AD 286-293 (Reece Period 14). SPES PVBLICA reverse type depicting Spes walking left, holding flower and lifting robe. Probably Unattributed Mint, - // [ ].. RIC V, pt 2, p. 543, cf. no. 1010var. Although the exergue is off the flan, there is probably no mintmark. This obverse legend is not recorded for the type in RIC, but Sam Moorhead has 6 specimens for his knew edition of RIC.

Obverse: AVG[G]G CVM DIOCLETIANO (P), Jugate busts of Carausius, Maximian, and Diocletian radiate and cuirassed right. Reverse: CONCORDI AVGGG, Concordia standing right, clasping hands with the emperor standing left. C mint: -//(S)P(C).
This is a new variant. The obverse legend AVGGG CVM DIOCLETIANO with the same obverse type is in the Ashmolean Museum. It has a PAX AVGGG reverse. This CONCORDI AVGGG reverse appears to die-link to a coin in the BM (BM: 1996,1201.…
