Small shard of black burnished ware type pottery probably from the rim of a Roman flanged bowl. The rim is roughly triangular in section and decorated with a groove on the outside. An inner lip provides a platform that would have held a lid. The rim is too heavily damaged to determine the original diameter of the vessel.
