Two fragments of Roman (AD 70-240) decorated Samian ware (probably a Dragendorff 29 or 37), apparently from the same vessel. Both have a browny/ orange slip and the fabric is pale orange in colour. Both fragments are from the decorated, curving part of the bowl. 1) 52.91x38.82x9.68mm, 20.7g. Palm leaf to the left within a double-border circle, goat below. A Roman (AD 100-410) oxidised greyware body sherd with stamped decoration, probably Oxfordshire ware. There is possible residue of colour-coating in the stamp hollows suggests it might have had a reddish-brown wash. Measures 29.86x26.28x5.67mm and weighs 6.6g. The stamp decoration is in the form of a semi-circle of radiating triangles, reminiscent of a woodlouse.

A neck fragment from a Romano British colour-coated (probably Oxfordshire ware, AD 100-410) flagon or small vessel, measuring 39.61x32.26x4.70mm and weighing 23.2g. The fabric is sandy and the colour-coating grey-brown. The mouth of the vessel measures 31.37mm in diameter, with an internal measurement of 7.50mm inside the neck.

A rim (?) shard, probably from a Roman Oxfordshire ware vessel. However, the shard is in poor condition, with discoloured and corroded slip in places on its outer surface making the fabric difficult to identify. It is orange in colour and the slip, where is survives, appears to be a glossy red. The fabric is fairly soft and sandy with a micaceous matrix and few other visible inclusions (although these may be obscured by the corroded slip). A shard of a Roman greyware vessel that appears to have been deliberately shaped, perhaps to make a vessel lid. The other two edges are straight, but probably represent later breaks. The fabric is medium grained and hard. It is mid-grey in colour and tempered with plentiful rounded quartz (<1mm), plentiful poorly sorted dark iron ore (<3mm), rare mica (<1mm), and occasional small chalky pieces (<1mm). Thirty-six undiagnostic body shards from Roman greyware vessels, from the same field. All are farily small in size and extremely worn. All have a medium/coarse, sandy, but fairly hard fabric. This varies in colour from light grey to orange-brown, though all are of a similar colour. Some have grey outer surfaces and brownish cores. Most are grog tempered and also contain, to varying levels, black and red iron ore, quartz, occasional calcareous material and sparse fine mica.
