Weight 62.84g Being of similar style, pots 1 and 3 are very similar in size. All 3 are incredibly uniform in weight. Two fragments of LIA - early Roman coarse wares and one fragment of Samian. Both pieces of Iron Age pottery are flint tempered with large inclusions. The larger piece is a mottled brown while the smaller is a darker brown. The lager piece retains part of a turned and moulded rim. The smaller is straigher sided and has a slightly turned out rim, On the exterior of the smaller piece is a horizontal groove from one side to the other. A fragment of an incomplete, Roman, wheel turned, ceramic, vessel possibly from a grey ware vessel dating to c. 120 - 350 AD. The fragment consists of a rim sherd with only a small part of the body attached. The rim is everted and at the lower end of the sherd there an incised horizontal groove. The fabric is grey throughout with a fine core with sparse mica at <0.5mm, small voids and what look to be sparse white quartz. The sherd is 57.7mm in length, 32.8mm in width, 13.7mm in thickness, and weighs 26.14g.
