Three rim sherds of grey ware pottery of Roman date. They are likely to be of local manufacture. One sherd has a reduced mid to light grey fabric with moderate fine sand temper and sparse mica and grog, the second has a reduced light grey fabric with sparse fine sand, rounded quartz and occasional other inclusions and the third has a reduced mid grey fabrics with mixed temper including moderate sand, sparse quartz, grog, iron oxide and other stone pieces. The sherds probably formed part of small jars or bowls. Total weight: 23g

An undecorated body sherd of hand made south-western black burnished pottery of first to third century AD date. The fabric is reduced with very mild oxidation on the external surface and a slight 'sandwich' effect visible in the section. It contains moderate fine sand, mica and rounded quartz (up to 1mm). Dimensions: 33.8mm by 32.3mm by 6.5mm Weight: 7g

Ten sherds of hand made south-east Dorset black burnished 1 pottery of Roman date. The sample comprises two base sherds, three rim sherds and five body sherds. Two of the rim sherds are from shallow ("dog") dishes and the other is from an everted rimmed jar. The fabric is a reduced dark grey with mild light grey/buff oxidation on some surfaces. It contains common rounded white quartz sand. Total weight: 97g

Four sherds of abraded wheel made New Forest slipped ware pottery dating from c. 260-370. Three of the sherds have a reduced grey core and a purplish-black slip. These are all body sherds. The largest sherd appears to be from a beaker and it has a small white painted decoration consisting of five short lines. The other sherd is a rim sherd from a bowl with a small external bead. It has a creamy white reduced fabric and a dark grey slip. A small area of decoration is present at the lowest point of the sherd.
