A sherd of a ceramic Vessel of Roman date (AD 43-200). The sherd is probable of Gaulish Samian ware. This example is probably from vessel of Dragendorff 18-31, a bowl or dish. The rim sherd has a small projecting rolled lip. The body has repeating concentric circular grooves around the outer surface. The fabric is a buff orange in colour with a glossy orange-red slip on the inner and outer surfaces. Height: 24.77mm, Width: 22.32mm, Thickness: 5.64mm, Weight: 2.9g
