Romano-British colour coated sherd with applied, trailed, decoration. The decoration was applied using a white clay, laid on a black slip covering the outer face of the sherd. The inner face is reddish brown and the interior of the fabric is pink, with sparce, angular, fine (c. 0.2mm), glossy black inclusions. The sherd is Roman and comes from a colour coated beaker of probable third century date. 26 x 20mm x 3.0mm thick, Mass 2.06g.

Sherd from a Romano-British greyware jar, body shouldered with a slightly everted rim, now missing. The surviving fragment suggests an original diameter of c. 170mm although this may be an over estimate. The fabric is reduced with a dark grey core and a light grey exterior. A sandy filler has been used, this is fine, sparce, with angular grains. There are some large, angular, flints up to 4.0mm long. Width 31.0mm, Height 42.0mm, Thickness 6.0mm, Mass 13.2g
