The fragment is sub-rectangular, tapering from the wider centre to worn rounded points at either end of the object. It is unclear if these are both breaks or intentional terminals. It has a curved profile. Both the upper surface and reverse are flat and undecorated. The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. A fragment of a glass bracelet dating to the Roman period, c. AD 50 - AD 200. Kilbride-Jones type 2. The bracelet is D-shaped in section and blue in colour. At the apex of the curved side a semi-circular groove is present into which a separate strip of glass has been fitted through marvering. The strip is comprised of alternating thick blue and thin white glass cables which have been twisted together to create a twisted rope effect. An incomplete, Roman copper alloy twisted cable bracelet fragment dating to the period c. AD 320-450. It is formed from a pair of sub-circular section twisted cables of copper alloy. Both terminals are missing, and the cable is unwound in part at each end. The metal has a dark green patina. Length: 72.98mm, width: 4.4mm, thickness: 3.9mm, weight: 6.54g. Comparable examples of incomplete two-cable twisted bracelets have been recorded by the PAS, including: SOM-D6309F, SOM-E1DFB1. An examples with complete terminals: YORYM-7115F3.
