An incomplete copper-alloy suspension loop, probably from a Roman nail-cleaner. The object consists of a circular loop with a narrow waisted-section below, followed by an expanded, flattened, rectangular section, which becomes narrower at its lower end. The surface and break are all corroded and well worn. Without the blade the object cannot be closely classified, although as it is cast it seems likely to belong to Crummy's (1983, 58) Type 1b to 3, suggesting a mid-1st to late 3rd century AD date.
