An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch of the Colchester derivative rear hook Type, dating to AD 43-70. It has a winged head and a D-shaped cross sectioned bow. The wings are slightly curved in profile and are heavily worn towards the ends. On the top of the head there is a remainder of the now worn away rear hook. The front face of the bow has a low longitudinal ridge, which flattens to the surface of the bow after 9.90 mm from the head of the brooch. The back face of the bow has a reminder of the catch-plate.
