Copper alloy possible finger ring. Cast D-section band, slightly narrowed at one point which, if indeed a finger ring, would be opposite the bezel. The latter, and the rest of the band, is plain. Abraded. The wearing of finger rings was a men’s custom for the Romans, and this band would have to be for a youth or gracile individual if indeed worn on the finger. Copper alloy finger ring fragment. Cast oval bezel and tapered D-section shoulders of a small finger ring. The bezel is flat with two circular recesses or cells, the position of which is marked by rounded protrusions on the back of the bezel. Both contain rust-coloured soil, one has reflective material in its base which may hint at a lost enamel.
