The rim to base profile of a plain-rimed bowl with a flange (for holding) towards the rim. The vessel is finely made in a quartz-tempered fabric that has been fired in an oxidising atmosphere to produce an almost orange, oxidised fabric. The flange and rim are burnished on the exterior, and the interior is is also slightly burnished. This tapers out towards the base suggesting that an implement had been used on the interior to cause the wear, possibly a spoon or mortar.
