An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester Derivative Polden Hill (CD PH CD PH, 4.l.c Plate 49) type and 2nd century AD date. The brooch is missing much of the wings and spring, foot and catchplate with an overall surviving length of 53.5mm and max width of 24.1mm at the wings. The more intact wing is warped by iron corrosion (with a remaining diameter of 9.5mm) from the iron axis bar. The brooch is missing the pin, foot and most of the catch-plate resulting in an overall length of 47.3mm. Roman copper- alloy finger-ring with keeled shoulders, probably of 3rd century date The cast finger-ring is fragmentary, missing most of the band, one shoulder and the bezel surviving (with a surviving width of 18.5mm. a surviving height of 10.1mm and a weight of 2.8g). The brooch is fragmentary, missing the leg and spring (with a surviving length of 28.0mm, a surviving depth of 12.4mm and a weight of 9.0g). The brooch is fragmentary, represented by the head and top of the bow only (with a surviving length of 28.7mm, a surviving depth of 4.4mm and a weight of 10.3g).
