Copper alloy finger ring fragment. Cast oval bezel and tapered D-section shoulders of a small finger ring. The bezel is flat with two circular recesses or cells, the position of which is marked by rounded protrusions on the back of the bezel. Both contain rust-coloured soil, one has reflective material in its base which may hint at a lost enamel. Suggested date: possibly Roman, 43-410

Copper alloy unidentified object fragment, possibly part of a strap fitting. A cast bar, now part-melted, to which are attached the expanded ends of a small integrally cast spool-shaped object of length 14.2mm with expanded round ends with a space 9.4mm wide between bar and spool. A function entailing the constraint of a light strap might explain this form. The melting of the object is unlikely to have come about accidentally. Suggested date: possibly Roman, 43-410

A complete Late Iron Age to Roman probable baldric ring or military phalera (horse harness) mount dating to circa 70 BC-AD 300.
The object is fully three-dimensional; it is oval in form and in cross-section with rounded edges. The sides of the ring leading up to the curvilinear openwork grow in width from 8.15 mm to 10.6 mm). One side is slightly flattened nearer the broken projecting lobe, perhaps worn down due to its use.
