The base of a small circular Roman seal box dating to ~100-400AD. Andrews type C2. This is a circular plate that has raised sides to form the box in which the seal would be held. Due to post depositional damage and corrosion only about 50% of the sides remain. There are three holes spaced near the perimeter of the plate. The remains of a projecting lug is situated on one edge, this would be mounted on the opposite side to the hinge, which is now missing.
