A fragment of a Roman mosaic floor dating c. AD 100-400. The fragment is broadly rectangular in plan comprising a layer of white crystalline marble tesserae set in mortar with a section of opus signinum attached.  Nine tesserae remain; two are square; four are rectangular; two irregular pentagons and one irregular hexagon. They vary in size the largest measuring 15mm long x 15mm wide x 12.35mm thick and the smallest 12mm long x 11mm wide; the depth obscured by mortar. Fragment of Roman mosaic flooring consisting of 4 joined tesserae, AD.50-410. The tessera are irregular cuboids in shape and made from Marble or hard limestone. They are pale cream/white in colour and connected by a hard whitish mortar. The upper surface of the floor is worn smooth through use while the lower remains sharper. The fragment is roughtly square with a small inset in one corner where a stone is missing. Length: 35.07mm Height: 29.55mm Width: 39.97mm Weight: 79.27g

A fragment of mosaic, probably Roman, comprising marble tessera set within mortar (AD43-410). This fragment of mosaic consists of 20 tessera made from a crystalline marble; 8 are orange/red, 4 are black and 8 are white. The tessera have been cut into irregular cubes and two are much thinner fragments to fit into gaps between the cubes. These tesserae are set into a bed of pinkish white mortar with irregular inclusions including grog. The impressions of further tessera, that are no longer present, are visible in the mortar. A fragment of Roman ceramic mosaic. The tessera are set with a white plaster on top of opus siginum. The fragment contains two different types of stone; the four white tessera are probably white crystalline marble and the two grey are probably Wealden shale. The opus siginum has the characteristic pieces of red ceramic material and small gravel within a grey mortar. The fragment measures 51.4mm x 44.1mm x 26.8mm and weighs 61.90g.

Three Roman fragments of mosaics (2nd – 3rd century). Each fragment is two tone comprising a number of marble tessera set within white mortar with frequent inclusions of ground brick/tile. The first fragment comprises ten tessera forming a black and white pattern. There are two rows of black and one (and part of another) row of black tessera. Segment of mosaic. This object is essentially a lump of concrete, upon which is set small tile pieces or tesserae, approximately 18mm by 18mm and approximately 7mm thick. The concrete has red tile fragments mixed within, typical of Roman methods. The tile pieces are dark grey and creamy white and set so that a straight white line is banded either side by the black. The mosaic fragment is presumed to be Roman, though there are no records of any villas or substantial houses in the area that it was found. Small decorative mosaic fragment with one red (tile), three pink (soft, probably heated chalk) and three white (clunch or similar hard white limestone) forming part of a curving design, set in a white mortar with coarser opus signinum below.
