An incomplete cast lead-alloy probably Roman to Medieval loom weight, dating to AD 43-1450. It is circular in plan with as central sub-cylindrical perforation, which has traces of recessing on its inner face, probably due to use. The sides of the loomweight are convex. The front and back faces are damaged. The second hypothesis is that the object is a spindle whorl of the same period range. Diameter: 31.66 mm Thickness:13.54 mm Height: 16.46 mm Weight: 57.94 g

The object is cylindrical with a sub-oval perforation through the object to facilitate attachment. There is evidence of some post depositional damage in the form of indentations, pitting and scratches on the surface of the object. There is one large ovate indentation possible caused by post-depositional damage, above the base of the object. The surface is otherwise plain and undecorated. Length: 51.66mm, Width: 30.92mm, Thickn…
