An incomplete crescentic copper alloy ring; possibly a Romano British earring cf. Allason-Jones (1989) Type 1. The hoop is crescent shaped, but bent open and oval in shape, 20.1mm in maximum diameter with an internal diameter of 14.4mm. It is undecorated with rounded cross section which narrows in diameter from a maximum of 3.1mm down towards tapering points (one has broken off) which oppose each other but do not meet.

A complete Roman coppe alloy pennanular ring with overlapping ends, possibly an earring, dating to circa AD 43-410. Broadly oval in plan with a flattened top, it has a rounded outer face and flat underside, D-shaped in secton. The penannular terminals have straight edges. Though now heavily worn, four transverse ridges can be discerned just above the terminal on one face. Ridges at one or both terminals are a distinctive signifier of Allason-Jones' 1989 Type 2a ear-rings. Diameter: 21.5mm; Width: 3.6mm; Thickness: 2.1mm; Weight: 3.21g.
