Possible Roman dress fastening such as a toggle or loop fastener, although this is not certain. The body of the object is a circular sectioned bar which tapers to a narrower section in the centre. Both terminals is slightly expanded and has a low-relief line beneath. Protruding from one edge of the bar, at its most narrow is two integral flat protrusions which was probably originally a loop. Copper alloy dress fastener or strap end, possibly Roman. At one end the object has a rectangular plate 11mm x 6mm in size with a serrated edge. This plate is pierced by three 1mm round holes, within which two tiny copper alloy rivets, presumably for attachment, remain. This plate is separated by a thicker rounded ridge from the main rectangular body of the object, which consists of three parralel copper alloy rods separated by 3mm parralel spaces.
