Forged and wrought iron tool of unknown date. The tool is likely to be a small wood-working flat adze or a large flat chisel. It is most likely to date from either the Roman period (100-450 AD) or the medieval periods (1200-1500). The tool is an irregular shape in plan with a large semi-circular – crescent shaped cutting blade which tapers into slender sub-triangular tang with straight sides.
