An incomplete copper alloy Roman gilded oval plate brooch inset with intaglio of black glass, dating to c. AD 250-300.  The incomplete brooch frame has a raised outer border with gilding around those outer edges which are still extant. This border creates a recessed field with incised decoration of V shapes which point towards the central collet. The gilding continues across this field and up the sides of the central collet. A Roman copper alloy, oval plate brooch with oval central flange, which would have contained a glass or intagilio setting, now missing (c. AD 200 - 410). The plate has a raised edge and the flat space between the setting and the edge is tool marked with a band of small nicks/hatching. The front is gilded and the back has traces of a white metal coating. Perforated lug and part of catch plate present on back; pin missing. Length 28.8 mm, width 22.2 mm, thickness 3.6 mm and weight 7.88g.

An incomplete flat Roman disc brooch. A once circular plate, now truncated, with four surviving raised circles with central circular reserves. At the centre of the disc, a large circular rim is present. The plate is framed by a raised circular rim. The reverse is undecorated, with two semi-circular lugs at one end, and opposite, a worn/damaged catch plate. There are traces of enamel present, primarily in one of the four surviving circular decorations. The find may date to the 2nd Century AD.

The two pierced lugs where the pin attached are present but damaged. The flat, circular plate has a raised rim for containing enamel, which is damaged on one side. Incomplete Roman copper alloy domed and circular plate brooch with a scalloped edge. Most of the hinged pin and part of a loop on the edge next to the hinge are missing. Mackreth 2011, British Plate 6.c. A round cell on a boss in front of the catchplate is inlaid with red enamel as are twenty-four triangular cells in a ring surrounding the boss. A single row of twelve larger triangular cells on the boss, inlaid alternately with red and blue enamel, enclose a single small round cell of red on the top. Diameter 26.5mm. Extant length 33.8mm. Thickness excluding pin fixings 6.3mm. 2nd century.
