Distorted but complete Late Iron Age to Early Saxon copper-alloy penannular brooch, with round-sectioned frame and folded-over terminals. There is a curved chamfer on each side of each terminal, giving them appearance of an animal’s snout. The pin is flat and coiled around the bar at one end. Its main shaft is circular in cross-section and gradually tapers to a point at the tip. Mackreth (2011) type f2.b, (similar to No.3336, Plate 145), part of Fowler (1960) D1, and D2.
