Copper alloy tweezer fragment. Sheet metal arm from a pair of tweezers, with a slightly expanded end. The outer side is decorated with a central longitudinally incised line which is flanked by closely spaced and slightly angled nicks. The top of the arm is marked by three horizontal nicks set immediately above the end of the central vertical line. The arm is roughly folded in half. A flat narrow implement with expanded ends, the larger bearing a drilled hole of diameter 1.3mm, possibly a pair of tweezers equipped with a hole for attachment to a grooming suite. Complete cast copper-alloy roman tweezers. The loop is pointed oval in section. The arms gradually flare out towards the terminals, the tips of which are slightly bevelled. The arms are now slightly bent at a midway point. Just below the bend is a copper-alloy sheet slide, which has a width of 3.0mm. Between the slide and the terminal both faces of the arms have decoration in two panels. The first panel has three horizontal deep grooves and the second has an incised saltaire cross.
