Copper alloy brooch. Cast T-shaped brooch with broad tubular wings retaining the stub of a hinged pin. A finely moulded quasi-D-shaped bow - the 'straight' reverse side of the D is actually biconvex - grips the wings and bears low moulded curvilinear decoration along its crest and upper sides. This decoration in particular is in a high-quality Celtic style. The bow tapers towards an un-pierced folded catch-plate and a simply moulded drum-shaped foot. The wings are surmounted by a rectangular lug or panel with a small circular loop on top. Neatly incised billeted decoration runs across…

Copper Alloy brooch. Cast T-shaped brooch with tubular wings with slot for a hinged pin. The wings are corrugated or reeded to recall the appearance of a spring, but the same reeding extends all the way along the crest of a curving and slightly tapered bow of squared section. This descends to the stub of an un-pierced catch-plate, a triple horizontal moulding or collar and a simply moulded drum-shaped foot. The head is slightly twisted out of its true alignment. Suggested date: Early Roman, 75-150. Length: 28.1mm, Width (wings): 20.2mm, Thickness (crest of bow): 5.4mm, Weight: 9.74gms.

Copper alloy brooch fragment. Dolphin brooch. Tubular wings retaining the stub of a wire pin; though looped around an axis bar, this appears to have functioned as a hinged rather than a sprung fastening.
