Copper alloy brooch. Cast hinged Colchester derivative brooch, Mackreth type CD H 4.d. Tubular plain wings clenched behind retain an axis bar for a hinged pin [lost]; rust stains may suggest an iron component hereabouts. An incised line runs diagonally across the front of either wing. The wings are clenched by a broad bow of stepped plano-convex section with a central billeted ridge flanked by a concave surface to either side at the top. The central ridge is cross-cut.
