Cast copper alloy knife pommel in the form of an animal's head. Rectangular socket 18.8 x 9.0mm around its mouth is a narrow moulding. The animal's head is strongly defined and boldly executed, a sinuous moulding curves around behind the large eyes and across the cheeks. Curving lines on the snout suggest that the animal represented is a boar, an interpretation supported by the flattened end of the nose. Two nostrils and the mouth are suggested. This object may be compared to SF-0399A6 and ESS-BE3913. Length 38.0mm, Mass 31.83g
