Copper alloy with polychrome enamel, brooch. Trumpet brooch fragment. Cast oval head of a trumpet brooch of Mackreth Type TR1.2b. The concavo-convex head bears a loop to retain fastening gear on the back, from which a short lug projects. The display face bears lines in relief which divide the head along its centre line and into compartments which retain enamel: paired larger triangles hold blue enamel, with smaller triangular compartments below them, now void; and with a circular compartment retaining yellow enamel at the edge of each large triangle.
