Copper alloy brooch. Trumpet Brooch (cf. Mackreth type Tr1.a). Cast brooch comprising a six coil spring and a bent pin retained in the loop of a trumpet shaped head with traces of a border. A mid bow petal moulding with six vertical members (the individual 'petals' appear cross shaped) around the bow is set above a straight tapering apparently angular section lower bow with the stub of a catch plate behind it. Copper alloy. Finger-ring of Henig Type III. Cast penannular loop with the ends of its D section band tapering to very sharp points with a break between them; this apparent result of heavy wear would have permitted reuse of a ring made for a small finger as an ear ring. An elongated sunken oval bezel retains traces of red enamel. Possibly Henig type III. Suggested date: Early Roman, 43-200. Internal diameter: 15.1mm, Band Width (at bezel): 5.7mm, Thickness (at shoulder): 2.9mm, Weight: 1.44gms.
