Copper alloy finger ring. Cast band with expanded shoulders set at a sharp angle to a short constricted bezel with a central round stud, probably applied and brazed or soldered in place. The band is constricted but thickened at the base of the shoulders, and is lost opposite the bezel. The shoulders each bear a chevron of four incised lines originating at their base; that part of the band opposite the bezel is lost. Extensive traces of white metal plating remain. Henig type 8. Probably stained by treatment with oil by the finder. Suggested date: Late Roman, 200-300
Internal diameter: 19.3mm, Band Width (at shoulders): 13.4mm, Band Thickness (base of shoulders): 2.3mm, Weight: 7.13gms

Copper alloy finger ring fragment. Cast D-section band, markedly expanded at a flat oval bezel on which two pairs of lines confining billeted or zig-zag ornament frame three stamped ring and dot of diameter 4.7mm, with the enlarged dots [of diameter 2.78mm] infilled by mid blue enamel. The band width diminishes from the shoulders, and is lost from its narrower extent opposite the bezel. Henig type 3. Both the tripled motif and use of enamel put a native spin on the Roman custom of wearing finger rings. Suggested date: Late Roman, 200-300
