Copper alloy plate brooch. Cast circular enamelled plate brooch with a lug on the back retaining a four coil spring and its chord with the stub of pin remaining, and with the ridged stub of a catch plate at the opposite edge, Mackreth type British Plate 2.b. A central dot and six radial lobes retain mid blue enamel, with a star-shaped field of brick red enamel in the intervening zone. An outer field is partly filled with dark cobalt blue enamel, with a reserved [i.e. uncoloured] border. Copper alloy brooch. Cast hinged plate brooch, Mackreth type British Plate 6a. A concavo-convex boss has two ones of small triangular cells, some retaining enamel which suggests an original scheme of alternating red and blue. A pair of U shaped lugs on the back retain the stub of a hinged pin on a short axis bar; the stub of a catch plate projects from the opposite side. Copper alloy with white metal plating brooch fragment. Cast plate brooch, Mackreth type British Plate 2.b. Cast discoid plate with a central annulus and six projecting lobes against a bordered field retaining (now) dark green enamel. Traces of plating appear on the outer rim of the display face, on the central annulus, and at the bulbous ends of the lobes which radiate from it. Copper alloy and red and blue enamel brooch. Zoomorphic plate brooch, representing a swimming duck, Mackreth type OBJECT 4.a2. . A sub-rectangular oval ended plate bears a medial ridge flanked by sub-triangular gutters retaining traces of red colorant. Outside these are sub-triangular fields of mid blue enamel applied directly to the surface of the brooch; the wider end of the fields being towards the head of the duck.
