The brooch is almost complete with just the pin and catchplate missing. The wings are wide and tubular with a circular cross section; a slot in the centre of the reverse is where the pin was formerly attached. Each wing has a pair of transverse grooves. The brooch is comprised of the head, wings and upper bow; the pin and the rest of the body is missing. The brooch consists of the head, wings and most of the bow; the foot, pin and catchplate are missing. It presents a curved bulbous head with a pair of cylindrical wings across the reverse. A complete pair of copper alloy tweezers dating to the Roman or Early Medieval period (c.AD 100-600).
The tweezers are formed from a single rectangular sectioned band of copper alloy which has been bent in half, creating a sprung loop at one end. The arms of equal length and consistent width. The arms have been completely pressed together. The faces are decorated with a moulded strip in the upper half that has cut out sides to present a wavy effect. The object has a dark green patina.

The C-shaped wings exhibit worn reel decoration. interior of the wing-case exhibits traces of iron staining from the missing sprung pin mechanism. The bow tapers from the head lacks decoration. It terminates in a rounded foot. The catch plate and pin are both missing. The object has an overall green patina.
