A complete, copper-alloy, Roman-early medieval pair of tweezers c.AD 43-850.
The flared blades are parallel-sided, beaten out and folded to shape. The wide flaring arms turn in at almost 90º. The tweezers hang from a thin, annular suspension ring with slip-knot through the loop. An incised marginal groove and a series of circular punch marks run parallel to each edge, terminating just before the loop. An additional series of circular punch-marks are located inside the outer marginal design, forming a sub-triangular shape.

An incomplete copper alloy Roman to early-medieval (AD c.43-c.700) pair of tweezers, missing one of its terminals and bent at right-angles halfway along its length. Overall, the tweezers measure 25.4mm long, 19.8mm wide and 9.2mm thick. It weighs 2.15g. The tweezers are formed from a single 1.0mm thick strip of copper alloy, bent at the centre to form a loop and bent inwards at its terminals. The tweezers measure 3.9mm wide at the loop and expand to 6.0mm at surviving terminal. The tweezers have no visible decoration.

An incomplete Roman to early-medieval (AD c.43-c.700) pair of tweezers, missing one of its arms and half of its loop. Overall, the object measures 56.6mm long, 7.4mm wide and 3.2mm thick. It weighs 2.77g. The surviving arm tapers steadily in width from 7.3mm in width at its gripping edge to 2.4mm width at its loop. As the arm narrows in width, it increases in thickness from 0.9mm to 1.8mm. The gripping edge is bent downwards and there is a slight bend further along the arm. The loop bends upwards and then curves downwards. The surface of the tweezers is undecorated.

An incomplete copper alloy Roman (AD c.43-402) pair of tweezers. Overall, they measure 37.8mm long, 6.2mm wide and 22.7mm thick. They weigh 3.10g.
The tweezers have been bent out of shape. They are made from a single strip of copper alloy measuring 1mm thick, which was then bent to form two arms. The outer face is decorated with two parallel lines, running the entire length of the tweezers.

A fragment of a copper alloy Roman (AD 43-402) pair of tweezers, consisting of most of one of the arms. Overall, it measures 47.3mm long, 6.2mm wide and 1.2mm thick. It weighs 2.05g. The fragment is broadly rectangular in shape though it tapers slightly from 6.2mm wide at one end to 5.2mm at the other. There is an abrupt 45 degree bend near the wide end which marks this as the pinching end. At the other end is a small indent which may be the edge of a rivet hole for holding the arms together.
