A near complete but bent cast copper alloy pin of Roman date c. AD 41 - 410. The pin is made of a circular (2.4mm diameter) cross sectioned shaft that has a slightly pointed tip and a slight waisting possibly from corrosion along its length. The shaft is bent over 110 degrees at its middle. The head of the brooch is domed and then divided into three segments. The first being a narrow waist flanked by raised collars, the second being slightly more bulbous and the third also having a narrow waist flanked by collars. It has a medium green patina. A copper alloy Roman Prestatyn type brooch. The bow is wider at the top, narrowing to a rounded tip. It is divided into two vertical cells with a cast in line, these may have been enamelled. Behind the lower half of the bow there are two extentions wider than the brooch but less deep. The bow is slightly hollow.
