A copper alloy Roman nail cleaner with moulded neck and shouldered blade,dating from the 1st to 2nd century AD. The blade is narrow and undecorated, tapering from round shoulders 6.8mm wide to a bifurcated tip 3.4mm wide (one point is missing). The neck has a lozengiform cross section with four flat sides, each decorated with deeply incised oblique lines creating a zig-zag effect. The neck widens slightly into a rounded suspension loop, 6.8mm in diameter,  set perpendicular to the plane of the blade.

A copper-alloy nail-cleaner of high shoulder (Group) of early Roman date. The upper portion of the flat-sectioned body is sub-oval in plan, its bottom end tapering into a parallel-sided arm. A longitudinal groove extends from the sub-oval area to the base of the arm, where there is a pair of points. At the top, a short arm links the body to the sub-crescentic remnant of the loop.There is a lightly incised perimeter groove on the surface of the sub-oval area of the body, and over this groove, a crudely incised saltire which is either decoration or the result of post-depositional damage.

A copper-alloy moulded neck and shouldered blade nail-cleaner of Eckardt, H. and Crummy, N. 2008, 121, fig. 59 of Roman date. The flat-sectioned body has rounded shoulders, beneath which the sides converge before becoming parallel. A tapering groove extends upwards from between the two forked points. A baluster-moulded neck separates the body from the apex loop. Grooved decoration is restricted to the upper third of the body and comprises a saltire flanked at the top and bottom by two pairs of parallel, transverse, grooves.

An incomplete copper alloy Late Roman flat-bladed nail-cleaner with varying decoration (Group). Broken at the suspension loop, which is set perpendicuar to the main body of the nail cleaner. Several collars seperate the suspension loop from the body of the implement. The nail cleaner has broad shoulders before tapering down to a blunt point, which is bifurcated by way of a deeply etched vertical line. The face of the nailcleaner is decorated with a border filled with short lines. The inner panel has floral motifs etched into it. The reverse of the nail cleaner is blank and plain.
