Description: A complete silver Finger Ring of Roman date (AD 43-250). Henig Type II/ Guiraud Type 2d. The object is broadly oval in plan and D-shaped in cross section at its narrowest point opposite the bezel and widens and thickens, becoming lentoid in cross-section at the bezel. The ring's band is plain and undecorated. The bezel retains an oval setting, centrally located with an engraved intaglio of orange stone or glass. An incomplete cast copper alloy finger ring, probably of Roman date (c. 1st-3rd century AD), with a large flat oval or sub-hexagonal bezel, 11.6mm wide which sits in-line with the hoop and has incised decoration comprising four short lines apparently radiating from a pair of punched dots. The hoop has an internal diameter of 17.8mm with a sub-triangular section. It tapers sharply and smoothly from the bezel ending in breaks on either side. The alloy has a high tin content and is patinated a deep grey-green with pitting.

A silver Roman finger-ring that has broken into two pieces. Probably a Henig Type VIII which dates to the second or third century AD. The artefact weighs 3.44g, with the smaller fragment accounting for 0.56g of the total weight. The hoop has a width of 21.2mm and height of 19.6mm. The lower half of this finger-ring has a semi-circular shape however, the upper half is faceted so that the overall shape of the hoop cannot be described as circular. The rest of the hoop, which is oval in cross-section, is missing. The bezel is inset with the remains of red, white and blue glass. The ring has a surviving external diameter of 18mm while the bezel has a diameter of 9mm and a thickness of 4mm. The surviving hoop is 3.1mm wide and 1.5mm thick. The ring weighs 2.46 grams As Henig Type I or Guiard Type Ib.
