An incomplete cast copper-alloy bell of Roman date (c.43-410). Description: The object is conical on profile with a lozenge-shaped loop at its apex. The base is mishapen but it was likely orginally circular or oval. The body of the bell is openwork with sub-triangular appertures encircling the lower and upper halves, alternating in the direction they point. The loop has a circular drilled hole. There is iron corrosion on the inside of the bell beneath the loop. The bell has patchy red and pale green patina. Measurements: height: 29.8mm; width: 27.7mm; thickness: 11.8mm; weight: 7.28g

Cast lead-alloy weight of probable Roman date (c. AD 43-410). The weight is biconical in shape though the prominance on one face is slightly damaged and flattened. The patina is dark grey with a rough surface. The item weights 120.3g, has a central diameter of 34.9mm, and a height of 24.3mm There is iron staining at both points which suggest the inclusion of an iron rod for attachment. Lead weights can be difficult to date as their function did not change over many centuries, based on the form and the inclusion of an iron suspension loop it is suggested steelyard weights …

A copper-alloy fragment of a possible Roman finger ring. The fragment would have been soldered to the main part of the ring and contained a stone or intaglio. The fragment is oval in shape and has recesses both sides. The fragment is 13mm long, 10.7mm wide, 3.4mm thick and weighs 1.4g. It has a light green patina.

A cast copper alloy nail dating to the Roman period (43 - 400 AD). The nail has a solid plano-convex head and a tapering shank with a sub rectangular cross section. The nail measures 38mm in length. The nail possibly came from a piece of furniture and similar nails were excavated in Colchester, as illustrated by Crummy (1983: 115) Fig. 116.
