An incomplete cast copper-alloy vessel lid of Roman date (c.AD 200-400). The object has two regions a mostly flat flat of copper alloy sheet and a raised mount. The sheet is in its current state D-shaped with the straight edge being bent inwards and possibly having  an originally curved surface. All the egdes are ragged and may not represent the original surface. At the apex of the D-shape sheet the sheet has an oval concave depression on the opposite surface to the moulded work.
